Sam Bankman-Fried and other FTX staff allegedly had ‘Wirefraud’ chat group

Sam Bankman-Fried and other members of the inner circle of the collapsed crypto exchange FTX allegedly formed a chat group on the encrypted platform Signal under the name “Wirefraud”.

The Australian Financial Review reported that the Wirefraud chat group was used to send end-to-end encrypted information about FTX and its crypto hedge fund, Alameda Research, in the run-up to the implosion of the exchange. According to the newspaper, members of the secret group included Bankman-Fried, his FTX partners Zixiao “Gary” Wang and Nishad Singh, and the CEO of Alameda Research Caroline.

The founder and former CEO of FTX has now been charged by the US Securities and Exchange Commission with defrauding investors in the company. The criminal indictment, which is expected to be unsealed on Tuesday by prosecutors at the Southern District of New York, is reported to contain counts on wire fraud.

The reported existence of a “Wirefraud” chat group among top FTX operatives was revealed just a day before Bankman-Fried had been scheduled to testify before the US House financial services committee. That appearance will no longer be possible as he is being held in custody and is scheduled to be brought before a magistrate court in Nassau, the Bahamas capital.

'Intentional Vandalism' Leaves 40,000 Without Power in N.C.

A major power outage in North Carolina that left almost 40,000 people in the dark on Saturday night was caused by “intentional vandalism” at numerous substations, police said.

The sheriff did not suggest what the motive might be, but a local conservative activist who organized a protest against a drag show said on Facebook that she was visited by deputies.

“I told them that God works in mysterious ways and is responsible for the outage. I used the opportunity to tell them about the immoral drag show and the blasphemies screamed by its supporters. I told them God is chastising Moore County, thanked them for coming and wished them a good night. Thankful for the LEOs service, as always.”

Two hours earlier, Rainey had posted the message: “The power is out in Moore County and I know why.” And around the same time, she posted a picture of the Sunrise Theater, which was putting on the sold-out drag show, with the caption “God will not be mocked.”

Recently a concert venue; The Armory in Rochester, NY had it leaked to the public that they were hosting the Reawaken America Tour: Alex Jones; Flynn; Stone; Lin; etc.

They did a stealth job not advertising or promoting the event; that is until national touring bands caught wind; and began canceling their appearances. A handful of local indy bands also followed suit.

Media picked up on it; and within 24 hours the venue owner was pressured to cancel and pull their event permit.

WNY is a bastion of reich wing conservatism.
