“This reported action directly contradicts what Attorney General Sessions told me prior to his confirmation,” the Colorado Republican wrote on Twitter. “With no prior notice to Congress, the Justice Department has trampled on the will of the voters in CO and other states.”
Gardner then threatened to gum up the works for DOJ nominees unless Sessions agrees to reverse his decision.

Witness in Trump-Russia probe claims Mueller grand jury ‘looks like a Black Lives Matter rally’
An unnamed witness who testified in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential elections tells the New York Post’s Richard Johnson that he fears Trump won’t get a “fair shake” because there no white men serving on the grand jury.
“The grand jury room looks like a Bernie Sanders rally,” the source told Johnson. “Maybe they found these jurors in central casting, or at a Black Lives Matter rally in Berkeley.”
The source explained that 11 out of the 20 jurors were black, while adding that two of the jurors were wearing “peace” t-shirts.
The witness also claimed that “there was only one white male in the room, and he was a prosecutor.”
In conclusion, that source believes that this grand jury isn’t a place “where POTUS gets a fair shake.”

Fox legal analyst says Mueller has Trump in the line of fire

Multnomah Falls lives on!
A little bit of good news here in Oregon. Still haven't heard much more on the full damage but keeping my fingers crossed...
COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE, Ore. -- It's still yet to be seen how much damage the Eagle Creek Fire has inflicted upon the scenic Columbia River Gorge, but for the time being it appears some of the area's most historic locations look very much the same.
On Wednesday, the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office posted photos from several iconic spots. And apart from the smoke in the sky, many of them looked the same as they did prior to Sept. 2, when the fire broke out.
Perhaps the most prominent spot, Multnomah Falls and the lodge, looks very much the same. The trees are green and fire crews have worked day and night to make sure the lodge does not go up in flames

Two volunteer rescuers killed in Harvey floodwaters after bringing families to safety-
HOUSTON — On Monday morning, as floodwaters were rising fast in their neighborhood in northeast Houston, three brothers and two friends set off in a small boat to rescue anyone they could find.
In two trips, they brought two families — seven people in total — to safety, then went out a third time.
“Everybody told them to stay, that they had already done their part,” said Stepheny Jacquez, 25, a family member. “But they said, ‘No, we have to go back, there’s a lot of people in danger.’”
On their third trip out, around 3 p.m. Monday, they lost control of their boat in strong currents and drifted toward downed power lines throwing off sparks.
“They all jumped in the water and got electrocuted, and the current took them,” Jacquez said.
