liberalguilt57's JournalKiller Mike made an amazing speech In Atlanta
Rapper and activist Killer Mike made an amazing speech thats worth listening to during the mayors press conference in Atlanta, asking protesters not to burn the city down. It made me think about how James Brown helped keep Boston calm, and Bobby Kennedy did the same for Indianapolis, after Martin Luther King was assassinated.

Harrisburg is going to be rife with the 'Rona.
Lots of "Don't Tread on Me" flags flying. Lots of camo. NO social distancing. Don't see a lot of masks, even though they are required for all who enter stores, etc. in PA as of Sunday night. A few people are staying in their cars and driving up and down the road.
Lots of COVID-19 being spread. Good going, jerks.
Now we'll be quarantined through the fall because of your actions.
One of the groups backing the protest is a gun-rights group from OHIO.
Outstanding interview (re pandemic) with Max Brooks on "Fresh Air"
Terry Gross recorded an outstanding interview with the brilliant Max Brooks, author of novels that deal with disasters and pandemics. He has done extensive research on how we could have been prepared for the coronavirus in January had the government followed its own long-standing plan. Highly recommended. The interview aired today on NPR.[link:https://www.npr.org/2020/03/24/820601571/all-of-this-panic-could-have-been-prevented-author-max-brooks-on-covid-19|
After Trump Mocks a Sea Wall in New York, Plan Is Abruptly Shelved
Source: The New York Times
Subhead: In an unexpected move, the federal government halted a project that might have led to a multibillion-dollar barrier to protect the region from flooding.
By Anne Barnard, NY Times
The Trump administration has unexpectedly halted a project to protect the New York City region from flooding during dangerous storms like Hurricane Sandy a decision that came six weeks after President Trump took to Twitter to ridicule the studys most expensive proposal, a giant sea wall that could have cost billions of dollars.
The Army Corps of Engineers announcement that the project was indefinitely postponed surprised some of its own officials, and local politicians and advocates said the decision was stunning at a time when climate change is threatening New Yorks future with intensifying storms.
In a statement, the Corps New York office said only that the study was suspended because it did not receive funding in the agencys work plan for 2020. Officials there refused to comment on whether they believed that Mr. Trump had influenced the decision. But a senior administration official said the project was shelved because it was too expensive and unfocused.

Trump and his minions are again playing with people's lives because of his own pettiness. (forgive me if this was already posted; I did a search and didn't find it).
Dana Milbank calls Matt Gaetz's attack on Hunter Biden "grotesque"
In WaPo, Dana Milbank calls Matt Gaetz "the most vulgar" legislator he's encountered in Washington. This is after Gaetz, who was arrested for DUI, attacked Hunter Biden for his (admitted) struggle with substance abuse.
