About Me

I am a Brit. I am a working class child of the troubles in Belfast who now lives a life of privilege. I am an anti-racist, progressive monster for truth. If I fail in being that monster, call me out....

America has just discovered the chip butty and Brits aren't happy

This all came about after the American media outlet Insider shared a video from a restaurant in Istanbul which made a more traditional version of the sandwich named a Patso burger.

British Twitter users have taken exception to America claiming the sandwich as their own.

Oh so wrong but oh so right......

Over one year into his presidency Trump blames Obama for latest Syria gas attack in Twitter blitz

Trump was late to criticize the al-Assad government on Sunday morning, choosing instead to launch a broadside at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Washington Post, but when he did, he included, Obama.

“Many dead, including women and children, in mindless CHEMICAL attack in Syria. Area of atrocity is in lockdown and encircled by Syrian Army, making it completely inaccessible to outside world. President Putin, Russia and Iran are responsible for backing Animal Assad. Big price to pay,” Trump tweeted.

Not ONE shred of decency

The Trumps: Not enough humanity to offer condolences when someone DIES in a fire in their tower.
Not enough humanity to realise that they SHOULD offer condolences in these circumstances. I can pretty much guarantee that it did not even occur to them.

A basic lack of decency and humanity.

America is being run by a Psychopath with a Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

Kim Davis files case asking people to stop suing her

Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis has launched a legal case to stop her from being personally sued for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses while in office.

Davis, who was put in prison for five days for refusing to issue the licenses, is attempting to field all legal cases against her, with the defence that they should be filed against the state.
Represented by The Liberty Counsel, which is an Evangelical Christian advocacy group, Davis has filed briefs in the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals asking for the dismissal of two complaints that were filed against her because of what she did on behalf of the county and state.

Startling how much Dictators use the same play book...

To be fair Trump is not a dictator .....yet
Putin is an autocrat on the way to dictator
But they both admire the one true Dictator in the pack...... I am very sure they have plans to out strongman the biggest strongman in the pack......if they can get get away with it.

The new age of conspiracy theory

Like the conspiracy theorists will tell you: it's all connected. Seemingly disparate stories are really part of the same fabric, from the Salisbury attack, to anti-semitism in Labour, to BBC bias, to Brexit judges.

They're not, mercifully, evidence of the same plot. They're evidence of the same mindset. It is popping up seemingly everywhere, especially on the far left and right, but also in the centre. It's a conspiracy squint, that sees shadowy forces manipulating events behind the scenes wherever it looks.
This is a very dangerous moment, in which institutions, which are key to maintaining a liberal society, are being robbed of any status and presented as shadowy forces of darkness and conspiracy. Objective truth is dismissed, on an almost conceptual level. And tribes become so stark and all-encompassing that every news item is interpreted by whether it is useful to one's side, rather than on the basis of its accuracy.

In all likelihood, things will get worse before they get better. The best way to stand firm and prevent yourself slipping into conspiracy theory is to insist on evidence and reason and avoid tribal instincts. But that, of course, is easier said than done, especially when everyone else seems to be going the other way.

Just cause you're paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you!
