That bipartisan resolution said the president cannot commit US forces to hostilities against Iran or any part of its government or military without explicit authorization from Congress.
The measure stemmed from fears among both Trump’s Republicans and Democrats that the White House was at risk of stumbling into war with the Islamic republic.

He will not just stumble into a war, if he thinks that it will help him in November he will stride into it. Death and destruction in 3...2...1... And the fuckers that supported him on this in the Senate need to be held accountable for the war crimes that will follow.

They are protesting on the streets of Beirut
The Lebanese Government locked down the country like so many elsewhere, but it seems like it is rather difficult to tell people to saty indoors when you offer no social security and then shut all of the banks so people cannot access any reserves they may have. Based on the reporting I saw tonight, the relationship between the banks and the government stinks to high heaven with each propping the other up using the people's money. As money is not currently coming in to support what essentially sounds like a Ponzi scheme, they just shut all the banks. So the people are being told, stay at home, but with no money and no food... as one protester said tonight, Covid may kill me, but starvation definitely will if things to do not change right now (para phrasing).
Two things come to mind:
1. I think we will begin to see social unrest on a hither too unseen scale in the the emerging economies. People will put up with most things but they will not tolerate watching their children starve.
2. Because Trump does not care for anywhere not America, watch Putin and China fill the gap in the chaos that may ensue/

In the West it has been ever thus, marginalised and minority communities are held to a MUCH higher standard of behaviour than their white counterparts (and women held to a much higher standard of behaviour than men). People understand if they do not conform to those standards they are literally risking their lives. This is just situation normal right? In the 21st Century we still have a long way to go before any meaningful equality will apply across communities. But now they have taken it to the next level. Not only are they are not at risk of arrest, or death murder by cop, they are actively trying to spread a deathly virus that has a higher contagion and morbidity rate for those communities who are forever being held to that higher standard.

The Prison Industry Complex is going to being having a cow about reduced profits as their populations diminish.
