After lockdown this should become a thing!

Instead of protesting outside a MAGA rally stand and cheer them on. Have a gofundme on the number of MAGA hats counted to go to charities that support anti-hate groups!!

Donald Trump: A Study in Leadership (and the lack thereof)

World leaders, including Donald Trump, describe the coronavirus pandemic.
Compare and contrast. It is a horror show.

Yet another marvellous reason to vote for VP Biden

Graphic mine

If the only thing that Joe achieved in his first term is holding Trump to account for his criminal and deadly conduct in office, it would be worth it…of course he will achieve much more than that, but you know what I mean!

There needs to a truth and reconciliation process when the era of Trump is done. Looks to me like the worst of then will have their feet held to the fire by a Biden administration, based on his comment last night. But over and above this the rest of the enablers and graspers and nasty need to be held up to a mirror about their conduct. They cannot just be allowed to slither back into the fringes of society where they belong without being held to account for their nazi nasty.

World agog as Trump flails over pandemic despite claims US leads way

“Over more than two centuries, the United States has stirred a very wide range of feelings in the rest of the world: love and hatred, fear and hope, envy and contempt, awe and anger,” the columnist Fintan O’Toole wrote in the Irish Times. “But there is one emotion that has never been directed towards the US until now: pity.”

The US has emerged as a global hotspot for the pandemic, a giant petri dish for the Sars-CoV-2 virus. As the death toll rises, Trump’s claims to global leadership have became more far-fetched.
----
In countries known for chronic problems of governance, there has been a sense of wonder that the US appears to have joined their ranks.
----
After Trump’s disinfectant comments, Beppe Severgnini, a columnist for Italy’s Corriere della Sera, said in a TV interview: “Trying to get into Donald Trump’s head is more difficult than finding a vaccine for coronavirus. First he decided on a lockdown and then he encouraged protests against the lockdown that he promoted. It’s like a Mel Brooks film.”

In one recent poll only Boris Johnson and Xi inspired less confidence...Heh. And seriously the world I know just keeps asking the question... are they stupid? Which is very unfair on the vast majority of Americans who have hunkered down and are taking this seriously even as this administration is wholly incompetent and his fascist rabble make the headlines around the world - and yes they are stupid, and that is being kind...

We all know that the Wisconsin branch of the death cult cares not one jot...

... if people live or die, as long as the economy is reopened. This is clear from the State Supreme Court decision yesterday. I am sure it was also satisfying to break with convention to kick the Democratic Governor in the balls as they took away all safety measures for fighting Covid-19 in the state. We all know that these entitled fuckers do not give a shit about anything but power, privilege and turning America into a theocratic tyranny.

What I do not understand is this...

'Lets all go the pub and totally not use social distancing rules or masks. Because now the court says we can have a beer, that matters above all else.'

There are multiple examples of this from last night. And many hot spots in 3...2...1.... because it seems for a certain part of the population, morons cannot police their own behaviours. The death cult will be delighted.

And on the bright side the far right happy clappy religious hypocritical class of death cult horrors will all happily trot off to the hothouse petri dish of church on Sunday morning to delight in the fact their version of a dystopian future won. Cause Jesus.

COUGH COUGH

All the while white privilege be like I am staying home and working on zoom.

In the UK we are now being told too ‘stay alert.’ Complete and utter bollocks. The right wingers in both the UK and the US want people back at work to restart the economy irrespective of the risk, BUT they frame it in a way that says it is up to us to behave responsibly. This is at a time when low skilled no skilled low paid workers are being told that they must attend work, but without any clear guidance for businesses on social distancing, and public transport being a high risk method for commuting in urban areas. Then when people inevitably end up getting sick and maybe dying the righties can blame them for their own infection. Obvs they were not alert enough to the danger, they should have been more careful… All the while white privilege be like I am staying home and working on zoom.

They are unfit for office and the pandemic has done much to highlight how 'special' our leaders are

The parallels between Trump and Johnson grow ever more apparent to the significant detriment of both our nations. The bluster and bollocks, their ‘policy’ positions, the exaggeration of achievements, the false hope and the utter lies they spouted to bullshit their way to the top may have seemed like an excellent plan, but the reality of holding such high office in the time of Covid is clearly kicking them in their collective incompetent arses.

We have always known that these ethically and morally bankrupt bamboozlers are wholly the opposite of the sort of character in both the disposition and capacity needed to lead anything or anybody, never mind a nation in a crisis. At this time, when we need leaders who can demonstrate attention to detail, understand that their actions have consequences other than what their poll numbers look like, and, can demonstrate an irreproachable ethical rectitude that can unite all of us, we get stuck with these horrors.

As a result of their habit of gaslighting, everything is falling over post haste, you cannot gaslight covid or their ineffectual and inept response to it. The stats do not lie (even though they desperately try to limit the count). They are so used to acting with corrupt impunity it seems they cannot help to continue to do so even as it leads to death tolls unimaginable even a few short months ago. This is all going to end badly for them, the question is how many of us are they going to take out in the process?

The saying goes you get the leaders you deserve. If that is the case, collectively, in a past life every single one of us must have been mass murderers or some such thing – because none of us deserve this, not even those who voted for them.
