Trump hires white nationalists to work in the White House, he calls neo-nazis “very fine people,” he is a hatemonger, he vilifies migrants and other minorities and has done so since before he entered the white house. He is loved by white supremacists everywhere. He quite shamelessly stokes fear and puts forward that these views of hatred towards other demonstrate that he is in fact the true democrat. Sigh.

There is evidence of a potential slide into full blown fascism, not just in the USA, after all we are witness to a new rise in 'strongmen' of illiberal states using lies and propaganda to stay in power across the world.

How far will Trump take it though? We know that fascism is a form of exclusive identity politics and any fascistic state has to have a military dimension. All that goose stepping is very important to the fascist dictator. Would the actual military side with Trump in a descent into totalitarianism? I can’t see it. However, do they need to? – does Trump have an ‘armed militia’ in his base that would support any scramble away from democracy?

As history has shown, a takeover by fascists of the state never works. It may be messy and violent but ultimately it ends in failure. Trumps administration would do well to heed the messages of history.

A racist little shit shot up a lot of innocent victims ‘cause they were brown… A president who through his rhetoric and actions explicitly encouraged these violent actions talks thoughts and prayers and is no doubt, behind closed doors, reasonably satisfied that the next stage of his race war has started, and it will help keep him the white house in 2020.

The right-wing populism that is currently ‘infesting’ (see what I did there) the UK & the US not only imperils lives and livelihoods; it is literally killing people. This far right bollocks are threatening our nations understanding of what democracy is. We must vanquish this new normal. To defeat this real and present danger liberals/progressives of all colours must unite.

We MUST be consolidated as a collective around the one uncomplicated principle of GET THEM OUT.

Today marks the 1000th day since the 2016 election. Enough now.

Some need to go to jail, the rest need to scuttle back to the dark corners of their blighted feeble landscapes where any normal person would never go. They need to be banished, driven away, expelled – sent back to the 1930’s from whence they came and leave the rest of us to progress…

Immediately, the government put very strict gun control laws in place, you can still own guns for sport and hunting, however they are strictly monitored and you have regular visits from the police to ensure you are meeting regulations.
