Democrats win two Louisiana state elections--in districts that Trump won by big margins in 2016
Last night in Louisiana, Democrats sent a 2020 election message to Republicans.
Trump is your political anchor and hes sinking you big-ly. Two huge wins last night for Louisiana Democrats in state districts that Trump won overwhelmingly in 2016.

The Louisiana GOP, in a desperate last-minute attempt to save these districts, sent out a political mailer claiming Trump wasn't a crook. Was there anything in the mailer that mentioned healthcare, the economy, etc.? No. It was all about collusion.
Louisiana voters responded by soundly rejecting the GOP.

They reckon it will take at least 200 years before there is real pay equality..
For every $1 a white man earns
hillaryclinton
It's pretty simple: Men and women in the same job should get the same pay. The House has passed the #PaycheckFairnessAct to help make equal pay a reality. It's 2019! Let's get it done.

For some their beliefs are hardcore and the juxtaposition between faith and evolution is one that will never be considered. For young earth Creationists the theory of evolution is in and of itself an attack on God, they believe it is the pagan religion for the modern day, they deny that evolutionary theory is even a possibility. For others Darwin is seen as one of our great thinkers. That it can be said with certainty that the world was not created in 6 days. For many treating creationism as fact is to perpetuate superstition and fundamentally it is in no way compatible with the proven science of evolution.
Others argue that the natural world shows elements of design. That being the case, Darwinism cannot be the whole story. That too much emphasis has been placed on a theory that cannot explain the complexities of the world.
Is it true that any logical scientist would find it difficult to believe in God at the same time as Darwin? Some Christian scientists do believe in both. They believe that God created slowly through the big bang and through a long-sustained process.
So, is it possible to believe in God and Darwin?
Does it matter if a Christian chooses the teachings of the Bible over a scientific theory?
Can a hybrid accounting of the two theories help people rationalise their faith with science?

Spookily prophetic words from Alan BStard. Here he is in the late 1980s giving a froth at mouth speech that is straight out of the ERG hard Brexiter playbook.

Two very different executions show the Supreme Court's anti-blackness and Islamophobia
If there were any lingering doubts about the Supreme Courts anti-blackness and Islamophobia, the recent decision to stay the execution of a Texas man who was denied a Buddhist spiritual adviser should put them to rest.
The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday to grant a stay on the execution of Patrick Henry Murphy unless the state permits his Buddhist spiritual adviser to be in the execution room with him.
In contrast, last month, when Alabama death row prisoner Domineque Ray, a black Muslim, appealed for a stay on his execution because the Alabama Department of Corrections would not allow him to have an Imam present in the death chamber, the Supreme Court vacated his appeal. Ray was later executed with his Imam viewing his death from an adjacent room.
--------------
Moreover, what the two cases in contrast reveal, is that the issue of process and procedure used to deny Ray of a spiritual adviser in the death chamber was nothing more than a thinly-veiled disguise to the overt anti-blackness and Islamophobia at play. Thats why SCOTUS could unabashedly state in Murphys case that, The State may not carry out Murphys execution pending the timely filing and disposition of a petition for a writ of certiorari unless the State permits Murphys Buddhist spiritual advisor or another Buddhist reverend of the States choosing to accompany Murphy in the execution chamber during the execution.
