The United Kingdom of Freezing Brexshit
It was inevitable. Putting our country in the hands of the absolute worse of us - Thatcher sold it all off, because of cause she did, and then this lot - up to their eyes in mutually beneficially relationships with big business ensure they were never going to regulate sufficiently - and Brexit just helped this pernicious profit driven deal between the libertarian right and the net present value crowd. For the rest of us - drink shit and choose between heating and eating, is the end result of gifting these far right brexit loons the keys to our democracy.
We knew this would happen in 2016 - but hey Project Fear (as in Project Facts) was an effective label to drown out the advice of, you know, actual experts, in favour of populist right wing rhetoric of sunlit uplands once we got rid of Johnny Foreigner.
Even though we warned of this - (and of course Covid and Ukraine have exacerbated the effects of Brexit, but it is not a coincidence that we are the only G7 nation with double digit inflation and 80% increase in heating costs) - it is shocking and distressing that the impact is now upon us with a violence of outcome that is not only harmful for the most vulnerable in our communities, but will inevitably lead to excess deaths (put let their bodies pile high in the streets, right?).
It is so bad, that I cannot even be bothered to say we told you what would happen and you did not listen. Many many families in the former red wall seats in the industrial north, who voted Brexit & BoJo with much gusto, are going to go cold and hungry in this new coming winter of discontent, and as James O'Brien says - 'contempt for the conman, compassion for the conned'. For many they are going to need much more than our compassion, they will need practical financial support to pay the bills and feed their kids as the cost of living crisis continues to rain unconstrained Brexshit shit on all of us. The next resident of number 10 - Liz Truss, of course, - has no intention of helping the 'idle workers' as she has labelled us. She could not give a Brexshit shit about any of us. But hey, 'culture wars' and 'woke', there is that👀

Deeply in my threat system cause we know a 2nd year anniversary is coming up. I was taking time off this week for self care and a government agency has decided to do an audit. I am fragile and battling. I had to cancel my holiday, and they are on me, over every thing. I am so anxious. Might you help me? Just some virtual hugs seems like a plan if you have the time.

Only a couple of minutes audio and worth listening too, a really great, if not also deeply depressing summarionJust when you think they cannot get any worse they just do. Again and again. Rinse and repeat. Disdain for the people they are supposed to serve with a massive dollop of abject incompetency to boot. And here we are - and this is before the mendacious, vacuous nasty piece of 💩 Liz Truss gets her grubby far right libertarian claws on number ten. Things are only going to get worse from here on in. Most people are not that politically engaged and have not yet realised just how bad it is going to get. JAMs will take to the streets when they realise they cannot heat and eat for their kids this winter. Shit will go down. Winter of discontent indeed.

On the first anniversary of the fall of Afghanistan - women again have to veil up to leave the house...
The girls are yet again being restricted and punished for the sin of having a vagina... Save the Children released a report the other day that found:
97% of families are struggling to provide enough food for their children, and that girls are eating less than boys.
Almost 80% of children said they had gone to bed hungry in the past 30 days. Girls were almost twice as likely as boys to frequently go to bed hungry.
Nine in 10 girls said their meals had reduced in the past year and that they worry because they’re losing weight and have no energy to study, play and work.
More than 45% of girls said they’re not attending school – compared with 20% of boys – listing economic challenges, the Taliban’s ban on girls attending secondary school classes as well as community attitudes as the key barriers preventing them from accessing education.
