In a dissenting opinion, Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch uses the Court’s decision in favor of an anti-gay baker to support his belief in religious exemptions to vaccine mandates.
In the case of Dr. A v. Hochul yesterday, the Court upheld the state of New York’s mandate that all health care workers be vaccinated against Covid-19, regardless of religious beliefs.

Ben Crump To Sue Louisiana Over Claims 'Wealthy White Men' Raped Black Children In The State's Care
Nationally renowned civil rights attorney Ben Crump said he plans to move forward with a lawsuit against Louisiana’s agency overseeing child welfare over years-old allegations that Black children were sexually abused while in the state’s custody. Crump, who represents a woman claiming that she and her sibling were raped by “wealthy white men” when they were underaged, held a press conference to announce the lawsuit on Monday morning in Baton Rouge.
While the contents of the lawsuit were not immediately made available to the media, it is all but guaranteed to take aim at John Mack, an accused child rapist stemming from separate allegations. Crump referenced Mack last week while announcing his intentions to take up the case on behalf of the unidentified alleged victims.

All the details of the lawsuit were not immediately clear, but Mack — who is party of a wealthy, politically dynastic family in Louisiana — has been arrested twice in recent months on charges of child rape not related to Crump’s client. Most recently, a judge last month denied Mack’s bond request for a second time as he remains held in jail on charges of first-degree rape and sexual battery allegedly committed against an underage girl.
Local news outlet the Advocate reported that Mack — who has been under investigation since 2019 but was only arrested this year — is accused of helping to organize “sex parties” with children between the ages of six and 13.

As a result, the Irish singer-songwriter was banned from NBC for life and also booed offstage at a Bob Dylan tribute concert a few weeks later.

Thursday, a federal court denied the three motions to dismiss litigation filed by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and others challenging 2021 Georgia law S.B. 202.
These motions were filed by the State of Georgia, county defendants, and intervenor defendants (which include the Republican National Committee and other campaign arms of the Republican Party).
The case, Sixth District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, et al. v. Kemp, et al. (in short, AME Church v. Kemp) is now scheduled to proceed.
The SPLC represents clients Georgia Muslim Voter Project, Women Watch Afrika, Latino Community Fund Georgia, and The Arc of the United States. Co-counsel in this litigation include the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), ACLU of Georgia, and law firms Davis, Wright, Tremaine and WilmerHale.

New Atheism appeared to offer moral clarity, it emphasized intellectual honesty and it embraced scientific truths about the nature and workings of reality. It gave me immense hope to know that in a world overflowing with irrationality, there were clear-thinking individuals with sizable public platforms willing to stand up for what's right and true — to stand up for sanity in the face of stupidity.
Fast-forward to the present: What a grift that was! Many of the most prominent New Atheists turned out to be nothing more than self-aggrandizing, dogmatic, irascible, censorious, morally compromised people who, at every opportunity, have propped up the powerful over the powerless, the privileged over the marginalized. This may sound hyperbolic, but it's not when, well, you look at the evidence. So I thought it might be illuminating to take a look at where some of the heavy hitters in the atheist and "skeptic" communities are today. What do their legacies look like? In what direction have they taken their cultural quest to secularize the world?

His primary focus these days is boosting the moral panic over "social justice warriors" (SJWs), "political correctness" and "wokeism," which he apparently believes pose a dire threat to "Western civilization" (a word that has a lot of meaning for white nationalists). Ex NFL player Glenn Foster Jr. dies in police custody
REFORM, Ala. -- Arrested after reportedly driving twice the speed limit through a rural Alabama community, former NFL player Glenn Foster Jr. wound up in a jail where he allegedly beat up another prisoner while trying to steal socks, authorities said. Foster showed signs of mental instability during a court appearance, records show, and a judge ordered him held for an evaluation just hours before he died in custody.
It was still a mystery Wednesday exactly what caused Foster's death, and Alabama state police said they were investigating.
Foster's parents said he had been diagnosed with mental problems, and they told The Times-Picayune/The New Orleans Advocate that they fear their son might not have received proper care while he was in custody

Why was he not taken to a psych facility for an evaluation? So you think he’s a danger to himself and other people but you keep him in a jail cell with other prisoners?

Ya know, probably like many other folks, I have frantically searched for my “missing “ cellphone. Even in public like this woman. The first thing that comes to my mind is not, the black guy must have stolen it. I’m sure this woman will be saying I’m not racist. I have a black friend. But this is not normal. The times I was frantically searching my purse for my phone, the first thought was, where did I last use it? Hmm, is it in the couch? Under the driver’s seat? Did I leave it on top of the car.
I think that’s a normal reaction, not the black guy must have stolen it.
