Michael Cohens visiting Prague would be a huge development in the Russia investigation

McClatchy reported on Friday evening that special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s team has evidence of a trip by President Trump’s personal lawyer to Prague in the late summer of 2016. Overseas travel to non-Russian countries might strike some observers as an incremental — if not unimportant — development in Mueller’s probe. That is not the case. Confirmation that Cohen visited Prague could be quite significant.

A trip to Prague by Cohen was included in the dossier of reports written by former British intelligence official Christopher Steele. Those reports, paid for by an attorney working for Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee, included a broad array of raw intelligence, much of which has not been corroborated and much of which would probably defy easy corroboration, focusing on internal political discussions in the Kremlin.

Mainers voted to expand Medicaid last year. Could these states be next?

Republicans in Congress may have relented on their attempts to repeal the entire Affordable Care Act, but the battle has shifted to states. Citizens in Idaho, Utah, Missouri and Nebraska have taken Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act into their own hands via ballot initiative campaigns, hoping to force statewide votes to either adopt or reject expansion this coming November.

Medicaid provides health coverage for more than 68 million Americans with low incomes or disabilities through federal and state programs. The far-reaching 2010 Affordable Care Act law, which expanded Medicaid coverage, was lambasted by conservatives as federal overreach. A 2012 Supreme Court ruling said that rather than being forced, states had to opt into Medicaid expansion.

Since then, 32 states have done so. But 18 states have not.

Sources: Mueller has evidence Cohen was in Prague in 2016, confirming part of dossier

WASHINGTON

The Justice Department special counsel has evidence that Donald Trump’s personal lawyer and confidant, Michael Cohen, secretly made a late-summer trip to Prague during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

Confirmation of the trip would lend credence to a retired British spy’s report that Cohen strategized there with a powerful Kremlin figure about Russian meddling in the U.S. election.

It would also be one of the most significant developments thus far in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of whether the Trump campaign and the Kremlin worked together to help Trump win the White House. Undercutting Trump’s repeated pronouncements that “there is no evidence of collusion,” it also could ratchet up the stakes if the president tries, as he has intimated he might for months, to order Mueller’s firing.

But investigators have traced evidence that Cohen entered the Czech Republic through Germany, apparently during August or early September of 2016 as the ex-spy reported, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is confidential. He wouldn’t have needed a passport for such a trip, because both countries are in the so-called Schengen Area in which 26 nations operate with open borders. The disclosure still left a puzzle: The sources did not say whether Cohen took a commercial flight or private jet to Europe, and gave no explanation as to why no record of such a trip has surfaced.

My thoughts on Robert Reich's Question about the airstrikes by Trump is the answer is Yes:

Robert Reich

Is it possible Trump ordered the airstrikes in Syria to distract from (1) the corruption investigation and FBI raid of Trump's long-time personal lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen; (2) Trump’s sudden pardon of Dick Cheney’s White House assistant Scooter Libby -- presumably to send a signal to those who might talk to Robert Mueller or face jail time that Trump could pardon them, too; and (3) FBI Director James Comey’s scathing revelations about Trump in his new book? Just asking.

Media sucks in so many ways:

There is no such thing as a liberal media but we do have one like cable news (MSNBC & CNN) that unfortunately is not able to report issues as they really are. That try to straddle the line, other side does it too thing. They gave Trump millions of dollars in free air time during the presidential campaign & go hard on Dems as much or more than they do on republicans.

Republicans have a solid Pravda type cable channel in faux manufactured news & another one One America or something along with RT on social media & Roku.

Trump made them happy giving them a temp type war to report on by throwing missles at Syria, now they can do their usual crap & all their pundents who love to hear & see themselves on TV.

Personally, this strike to me shows that we are OK with Assad killing his own people & we do nothing but don't dare use chemical weapons to do it. According to Putin's puppet, the mission is now accomplished so this will run its course pretty fast with probably no accomplishment. They had plenty of warning so everything they wanted to save was moved well ahead of time.

This is the Dems & the real media's problem. Dems do not stand up & fight hard enough at times (IMO) & the legitimate media is corporate owned so their main focus is money & I remember the CEO of CBS who said Trump may be bad for the country but he is great for CBS.

I will not forget the sexual issues & how quickly Al was thrown out of the senate. Also, the republicans immediately started screaming for Dems to return any money Weinstein donated & they did but then you have Wynn who was their Financial Officer for the RNC & they along with the RNC did not return the money. Yesterday the RNC Chairman said the difference was Weinstein admitted guilt & Wynn never has. Crap. Now, their Deputy Finance Chairman has had to resign because of getting a Playmate Bunny pregnant & of course Trump's lawyer handled all the negotiations paying 1.6 million.

My point is Dems & the Media just does not go to battle & report matters & facts hard enough. In my opinion of course.

I also on another matter do not buy into Comey's explanation of why he made the decision he did about Hillary's emails. He should have followed FBI usual protocol on that instead of his saying I thought she would win so I had to explain it as I did & reveal my thoughts.
