Gaslighters/Narcissists Can't Handle Rejection

This Forbes article by a mental health profession explains why Trump acts the way he does when people reject him.

U.S. Women’s National team co-captain Megan Rapinoe, when asked if she would accept Trump’s invitation to the White House if the team won the World Cup, said, “I’m not going to the f—— White House.” An appropriate response from a mature world leader would be for him to not respond. After all, the First Amendment protects the right of free speech, and as a world leader, it is understood the position comes with a great deal of public scrutiny. However, a gaslighter/narcissist cannot tolerate someone who rejects them and whom they feel is disloyal – even if the rejection is merited....

While one can argue that a later tweet by Trump said the team would be invited to the White House “win or lose,” it doesn’t erase the attacks on those he views as opponents. Gaslighters/narcissists will never tell you that they feel hurt by something you said. Instead, they will call you unpatriotic, ungrateful, selfish, et cetera. They go for character assassination. When gaslighters/narcissists are criticized, or if they perceive they have been rejected, it causes a “narcissistic injury.” This causes the gaslighter/narcissist to respond with “narcissistic rage.” This rage may not look like typical anger. In fact, many gaslighters/narcissists display narcissistic rage by being quietly demeaning and threatening, with smiles on their faces. This is especially the case if they are attacking someone in public. Public image is everything to gaslighters/narcissists, and the last thing they want is to look bad in front of others....

I've decided on Elizabeth Warren. Let me tell you why.

I've always liked her as I do many others, just wasn't sure.

But after watching Warren's interviews post debate, youtube videos of various speeches and reading some of her 20 policy papers (I plan to read them all), I was just about ready to go with her but still not 100%.

Then something happened today.

I met a colleague for happy hour and we started talking about the debates and the candidates. She told me her 15 year old son loves Warren. He loves her because she's able to explain her plans and how DC works in a way that he can understand. He also thinks she's running for we the people, not herself. She's uplifting when she speaks and her enthusiasm is contagious.

There's something to that. For me, listening to her seems ease the pall that I've been carrying around since 2016.

I'm done with negativity and politics as usual. Warren is different and right now, think she's exactly what we need.

Warren on CNN: "I wanted to talk about bigger things than Trump."

The first thing - corruption. She's absolutely right! It's really the root of the problem. Trump is a manifestation. She totally diminished him by saying that.

Great post-debate interview with Anderson Cooper. She's genuinely enthusiastic and upbeat. Impressive!

The current state of society is forcing sensitive people to become desensitized.

By senstive - I mean those of us who have empathy, those of who actually care about other people, other living creatures and our home, planet earth.

Not everyone has these feelings. Some people have no feelings whatsoever, which enables them to do ruthless things. When they do, the rest of us recoil and cope however we can, through anger and for most? They just tune it out to stop the pain of feeling.

When this happens, when the majority become desensitized, those who do ruthless things get away with it.

Right now, the ruthless are purposefully increasing the frequency and intensity of their actions as a tactic to control the sensitive - and it's working.

So how can people stop becoming desensitized?

How can we stop the ruthless?

Joe Biden is not racist.

No way I can look at Joe's history and make that conclusion.

I'm still undecided on a candidate so I'm not endorsing Joe here.

That said, any of our candidates who use divisive without substance GOP-like tactics to cut down another get a ding from me.

I will make my decision based on a candidate's plans, not negative attacks. Don't like it one bit.

Trump is a loser.

I mean - look at him! He's a caricature of a human being with his ill-fitting clothes, spray tan and exaggerated hairdo - he screams LOSER!

And have you hear him speak? Jiminy Christmas! This guy is living in la la land with a 4th grade vocabulary.

Sure he's got money thanks to daddy, but he's not a successful businessman, breaking laws and ruining lives to make a deal. Still, he ends up losing tons of money, and has no respect from his peers! LOSER!

Speaking of all that money, it certainly doesn't buy class, as evidenced by his garish love of gold-drenched everything and his stranger than fiction spoiled brat children.

Losers only get ahead when they cheat. They are weak. The only way he stays in the WH is if it's rigged in his favor, just like 2016. He was installed and what a loser - allowing himself to be used as a pawn by foreign adversaries! What a weak man.

So please - find a way to laugh at the loser instead of letting him get under your skin - and do EVERYTHING you can to help make sure that 2020 is fair and legitimate.

He wants us to believe he's winning so he says it and tweets it but the opposite is true. What a loser!

After listening to him, I believe that Trump's statement last night was orchestrated as the GOP moves toward giving Trump what he wants - jailing political opponents.

Their diabolical plot is being put into motion now that the stage is set.
