Mailed last Thursday morning very early-when I checked a few days later on the election board website to see if it had been received, it had-on Thursday!

I am reminded these days of Timothy Snyder's 20 Lessons

On Fighting Tyranny from the 20th century, especially when I see some who seem to be resigned that the Republicans may win one or both houses this election. No. 1 of the lessons seems appropriate-

1. Do not obey in advance. Most of the power of authoritarianism is freely given. In times like these, individuals think ahead about what a more repressive government will want, and then offer themselves without being asked. A citizen who adapts in this way is teaching power what it can do.

Carolyn Maloney Provides NARA Cause to Assert Standing

Carolyn Maloney just made a request of Acting Archivist Debra Steidel Wall -- that she provide a report on any documents still missing from Donald Trump's stash by September 27 -- that may give NARA cause to intervene to access the documents seized last month.

And Steidel Wall must intervene-in DC, not Florida. It's a request from Congress.

As you no doubt know, Trump filed a document that purports to be a request for a Special Master last night, over a week after discussing privilege issues with DOJ and three days after promising a significant Fourth Amendment filing.

This document is a lot of things:

-A confession to a violation of the Espionage Act
-A confession to making a threat against the Attorney General
-Serial proof that a Trump search was conducted like other searches
-Filed in the wrong place at the wrong time
-Not backed by sworn declarations to substantiate its “factual claims”
An invocation not of special master reviews by Trump’s own personal attorneys but instead an invocation of a terrorist lawyer convicted of conspiring with that terrorist.

One thing it is not is a significant Fourth Amendment filing. Trump couldn’t even manage that competently.
