Wanderlust988's JournalKY-SEN: Mitch trouncing Amy McGrath 53%-36%
As a Kentuckian, I knew Amy McGrath didn't have a prayer of beating Mitch. I voted for Booker in the primary cause at least he would go down swinging. McGrath is running a terrible campaign here. I'm not bashing her as I think she is a fine person, but her campaign manager needs to kick rocks. And her ads are really bad...like really bad. I'm talking cringeworthy. Mitch is killing her and she is not hitting him back hard at all.

With Obama's blessing, I think the filibuster is toast
Should the Dems win the Senate, I think the filibuster is gone. We'll get a ton of good legislation passed, but I think we should caution ourselves because if we just have a 1 or 2 seat majority, we'll need the blessing the moderate/conservative Dems in the Senate like Joe Manchin. We'll probably need a 4 seat cushion in order to get real progressive bills passed.
Kentucky Supreme Court allows Gov. Beshear's orders to remain in place
Thank God, we're not Wisconsin on this issue. AG Cameron, a Mitch flunky, went judge shopping and filed a lawsuit in Boone County to ask a circuit judge (conservative) to stop ALL of Beshear's executive orders on COVID and prevent future ones, and he was about to be successful until the Supreme Court stepped in today to stay his orders and save lives.
Cameron is a disgrace! He should be spending his time filing charges against the LMPD officers that killed Breonna Taylor rather than suing our governor over COVID restrictions. I can't stand that guy!
What should a new Democratic government do first in 2021?
I know I'm ahead of myself, but I'm thinking of policies that can be passed into law very quickly in 2021 should we win full control of the Congress and WH. I think the Dems will go for the layups first...the easy stuff.
1. Minimum wage increase
2. Voting rights restoration and election laws
3. Public option and Obamacare fixes
4. Statehood for DC and maybe PR
5. Campaign finance reforms
I think these things will pass with every Dem voting for them. We have to remember that even if we win the Senate and get rid of the filibuster, we still need a majority. Dems will probably have a 1-2 seat majority. I think climate will be later down the line cause of the splinter it will cause in the party as southern Dems won't go for too radical. I hate to say it, but Joe Manchin could be crucial to a lot of bills unfortunately.
I think Amy McGrath will lose based on Lexington
Astonished that Booker won 70% of the vote in Lexington for today's in-person voting at Univ. of Kentucky's football stadium. Lexington is in Amy's backyard and she ran in the 6th CD in 2018. This is her home. If the absentee ballots show anything close to today's tally, I don't see how she wins the state. Booker will romp in Louisville. The results we show right now don't even tally Louisville at all.
I already feel sorry for Joe Biden's future Attorney General
The amount of scandal and crimes that will be investigated from Trump and his minions will be earth shattering. Barr could even be prosecuted for gassing peaceful protesters. The attorney general may need to appoint 2 special prosecutors to cover all the crimes that has happened. It'll take 2 years at least. There'll be some HUGE decisions. It's a shame what Trump has done to this country.
Amy McGrath needs help in Kentucky against Mitch
Bloomberg or the Lincoln Project needs to go up on the air immediately. I live in Kentucky. Her commercials are terrible. She runs them all day and all she does is defend herself from Mitch's attacks. Who is her campaign manager? Once you start defending yourself, the attack has worked. You don't defend. You go on offense. I love her. I've even met her and she's a wonderful person. But her ads are awful. She just keeps looking in the camera whispering and pleading that Mitch's attacks are wrong. Her campaign manager should be sued for political malpractice. She's not gonna win like this. It's getting close to Christine McDonnell's Senate campaign ad in Delaware when she looked in the camera and said "I'm not a witch."
Just saw the new Lincoln Project ad against Mitch in Lexington!!!
One of the most hard hitting ads I've seen in a long time!!! I'm sorry I don't have a link to it. I just saw it on TV in Kentucky. Mitch is gonna be pissed.James Carville is right, the Dems are too freaking nice. Amy McGrath...I love her, but her ads are weak sauce. Just boiler plate ads that don't slam Mitch like Rick Wilson and the gang does. Someone needs to hire them to just do the negative ads this years. McGrath's ads against Mitch aren't going to cut it. No more whispering into the camera!! We need stuff that is hard hitting!! She's not going to beat Mitch whispering and pleading into the camera. Take it to him!!
Where is the Minnesota AG Ellison?
Why are they waiting on the feds when the state could easily bring up murder charge? Most murder charges are state anyway. I heard the Hennepin Co. atty doesn't like to charge cops, but the AG has the authority to install another atty or bring state charges himself. WTH is going on there? If I shot someone on video, I'd be arrested immediately and thrown into jail.
