(6,286 posts)with one of the resident RWers here at work. He is convinced that Romney will have the ACA repealed if he wins. I say no way.
He was even foolish enough to not qualify the bid with respect to the makeup of the Congress. He's sure that Romney, if he manages to pull off a win, will have enough groundswell to steamroll any Democratic opposition. The rules of the bet are 1) that Romney has 2 years to do it. (Since he said he'd do it on day one, that shouldn't be a problem. ), and
2) that the law has to be outright repealed, not saddled with amendments and otherwise tweaked.
If Romney loses and the bet is off, great. If he wins, at least I can take solace in the fact that I will make the easiest $200 ever. This guy might be a RWer, but he's pretty straight about honoring promises. I have no doubt he'll pay me if he loses. And I will reciprocate if need be.
But I don't think I will have to - here is my rationale as to why the ACA will stand: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002891537
