63. Liberalism is great but obviously not ideal if 46% say too liberal for Florida

We have to find some way to counteract that type of thing. Otherwise margin for error is gone. Huge difference between 37% saying DeSantis is too conservative and 46% believing Gillum was too liberal.

Republicans pushed the fear that Gillum was a socialist and Florida would turn into another Venezuela. It was rejected by Politico as false, and by anybody with a fleck of common sense as laughable, but apparently it was very effective among heavily Cuban districts of Miami, where Gillum lost 16 points compared to Hillary in 2016. That 16 points was more than enough to shift the statewide outcome.

This Miami Herald article from early September is now being spotlighted as very accurate toward what played out in those Cuban districts. In recent days I have seen references to this article all over the place on Miami sites, with some Miamians saying it was exactly what their friends were saying about Gillum and Venezuela.
