wrong NOT to be offended by the words putz or schmuck. I understand that the post written by a Brit was meant in fun and stated earlier that I was also not offended by the word twat given the cultural context, however I have heard the words putz and schmuck used in humorous context as well (by Jewish people) and have also not found them offensive.
I am part Italian and if I read a humorous piece that talked about "wops" I doubt very much I would find that offensive either.
My knickers weren't in a twist, I was just remarking on your inconsistency, but I think we are probably talking about the same thing. It's probably all a misunderstanding.
