Showing Original Post only (View all)It's disgusting how people are just freely admitting they watched 'the video' [View all]
I'm seeing this on Twitter and other places. There's a veritable laundry list of what's wrong with this and I don't feel like going into detail, but I'll give the rundown. And if you just clicked a link and saw a few seconds, this is not directed at you, but if you or anyone else saw what was going on, realized what was happening, and didn't decide to click that X button on the top right of your screen, then it definitely is...
These people are/were real people, not actors, not a video game or a show. A video of real people being wounded and murdered. All unarmed; men, women, the elderly, and children.
They didn't consent to being put on the Internet, much less being murdered. This is a gross violation of their rights on top of what already happened.
There are families and friends of the victims and these horrifying images are the last they see of them on this Earth, they didn't get to choose how they spend their dying moments, they didn't get the intimacy that one should get to have with that. The shooter wasn't alone in denying them that intimacy, anyone who realized what was going on in that video and decided to keep watching anyway also denied them that intimacy.
In my opinion, this video is on the same level as child pornography. Plain and simple.
