(6,829 posts)I thought it wasn't real tbh. The music, the stupid call out to Pewdiepie, the laughter, then the murders - know that the video is blurry and completely out of focus. The murderer/terrorist is moving so fast the camera never has a chance to focus so the "gore porn" aspect isn't present other than the horror of blurry bodies falling.
The video on my feed was about 3 minutes. I honestly thought it was a gamer stunt at first. What struck me besides the killing was the writing on the weapon. It's visible but blurry.
I watched it in confusion then started getting the details on my tl and yes, was utterly repulsed once I knew it was real- I never got a link to the video again.
I'm not happy this passed my way, but there are certain aspects that can't be adequately articulated unless you've seen it. His malice. His glee. His deliberate and prominent display of the rifles with their messages - its sophisticated and crafted for social media. Socmed experts need to watch it so these can be torn apart as the altright propaganda that they are.
Finally, it's so slick I thought it was a video game segment at first. Unless this guy was a socmed genius, someone helped him craft it before he took the script and played it out. THAT is critical. Who helped him? Unless you see the video, youd never even think to ask that question imo and it may be why the authorities were able to so quickly find the other 2 potential suspect
