I was living in Louisiana at the time. Any Democrat could've won that election because no one, not even some of the most hard-core RWNJ's, wanted David Vitter as governor. Everyone knew that he would never be able to escape the scandal of his history of wearing diapers with prostitutes. He would never be taken seriously.
