towards Porter at ALL, I love her).

Blue Wave, moderate, won a district that has been Rethug since it was made decades ago, she ran on healthcare and other kitchen-table issues, never brought up impeachment, etc etc.

The roadblockers said those type of voters, those type of districts not only do not care about impeachment, but will viciously turn on a new Representative who brings it up. They say even a simple enquiry is the kiss of death for our House majority.

Well, that sure is being challenged and Porter is far from the only one who is finding that out.

That article from the NYT I posted in the OP shows another danger of basic inaction (other than banging head against the brick wall of 1000% obstructionist Rump WH.) The base, the REAL base (including some of my fellow PoC) are starting to get really bothered. If we cannot even start a basic enquiry, then it is only going to get worse. Pelosi did herself no favours with that 'the Senate not convicting Rump means he will have immunity from all post-presidency charges' silliness.

This all is a really dangerous game of chicken. As I type this Al Sharpton is saying EXACTLY this on Morning Joe, as has over half the panel so far. I am not even going to get into the constitutional obligations, the use it or lose it angle, or and the fact the framers looked at even just impeachment that fell short of actual conviction and removal as a serious punishment.
