Among L.G.B.T. activists and advocates, one could sense something like a deep intake of breath, of the sort one makes when a fragile object is starting to tumble off a shelf across the room. You know its going to shatter, you are too far away to try to catch it, and you watch, helplessly, its interminable path to catastrophe.

Very poignant writing. They expect nothing but bad from this Supreme Court as appeals for protection from the wave of renewed legalized persecution in many states continue to arrive.
Really, isn't stopping the Republicans and Trump, protecting ourselves from the growing fascism on the right, about everything? And isn't that all about who wins in 2020?
