Benedict Arnold served with distinction and was responsible for some major victories in the early years of the Revolution, This was why Washington trusted him so completely that his treachery was such a blow. Feeling that the Continental Congress passed him over for promotion and gave others some of the credit he was due, Arnold's treason was not just about money, and, unlike Trump, he didn't avoid service. Unfortunately, Trump's name will probably never live in the infamy it deserves.
