She's a devoted grandmother, unlike the Head Deplorable, who probably couldn't pick his own grandchildren out of lineup. (Though I imagine it's his 3 older kids who are most likely to be in a lineup!) My son said she had to be dragged away from taking to the interns and seemed to really enjoy their conversations. She would say something personal to each one... like talk to the Berkeley one about her football team's chances (apparently, she follows sports, plus one or more of her grandkids go to USC, a Cal rival).... and to the U of Santa Clara intern about her own experience with the Jesuits... and to my son she talked about speaking at the Oxford Union. And my daughter was not appointed because she's a big donor or something. She's on SSI, and quadriplegic with a speech disability... but she was also Dem Volunteer of the Year for our district and Christine Pelosi has been one of her biggest supporters. It hurts my family at times to see the caricatures and demonization of a remarkable woman who has had such a personally positive effect on our family, but is also playing such a crucial role in helping to save our country.
