In reply to the discussion: woman calls police on man trying to visit his aunt with his two young kids [View all]mr_lebowski
(33,643 posts)29. Fair enough, but I would point out that I never saw any evidence BBQ Becky was racist ...
for example ... only that she was an annoying NIMBY busy-body, very common among both cons and liberals in the Bay Area, where I'm from.
She was also quite right in the point that it's illegal to use a charcoal grill in the spot that the folks were doing so.
She's probably gone through a ton of agonizing grief since the episode ... without anyone coming up with evidence of her being racist, at least not that I've ever heard (I may not have heard, granted).
Just sayin', I'm not jumping to the racist conclusion w/o more evidence.

OP
Why would you not just say your aunt's name and end the discussion? Seems simple ... (nt)

Assuming it's a secure building and she's a resident, then it kinda is her business IMHO

People should mind their own business. And I never saw any evidence she wasn't racist.

I would point out that he doesn't look clearly Hispanic, I'd certainly not have assumed he was

Yes. I'm assuming the man is black and that is why this is a big deal. But is this a majority

Odds are she doesn't know the names of the people in her building anyway.

Most leases, in secured buildings, require tenants to lock the door to prevent unauthorized access.
