4. I do. I've wondered how come the exponential surge

toward 100,000 dead that mercifully had slowed and begun a downward but still dreadful slope suddenly turned into a very slow creep over a week and through Memorial Day weekend -- and still not there. Deaths in some states, like our own, GA, are still climbing and not yet hit their (first) peak.

That extremely symbolic holiday would be a reason for culpable politicians to delay that horrible marker of their achievement until afterward, and the CDC compiles data provided by state and local governments, and probably other institutions.
