I would love to see progressives being elected in red or purple states, but it unlikely to happen. A grass roots effort must be made to win hearts and minds at the local and state level. We are damned lucky have Manchin...you know this is Democratic Underground and Manchin is a Democrat...you really need to stop attacking him. His vote saved the ACA you know...he has always voted with us when it really mattered.
