signing of a bill prohibiting trans females to compete in girls sports---even when there were no known instances of that in the state---was justified because that sentiment had "broad public support".

Dude, in Arkansas, I suspect that slavery, the death penalty for homosexuality and mandatory assault rifle ownership have "broad public support"!

"Governor" should be a synonym for "leader", not "weathervane".
