Did you know that I was the region president for the Texas Public Employees Association when I worked for the state about 25 years ago? TPEA isn't a union; however, I did stick up for employee/retiree rights and benefits including organizing rallies and events. I also met with my state senator and state representative to advocate for our agenda.
I was recruited to join TPEA by another employee within the first three months of beginning employment after graduating college and was an active member for nearly 13 years afterwards. The agency that I worked for did not have a union chapter organized so I joined the group that could advocate for my interests. However, I did interact and coordinate with employees at other government agencies that had union representation. I never had any issues with the union members and as far as I know, they didn't have any issues with me.
Now that I've provided you some of my background, do you actually believe that I'm anti-union since you obviously reached a conclusion about me without knowing the facts?
