The right to choose in Washington predates Roe. Before Roe there was a clinic in Spokane thats now part of the Planned Parenthood network. My mom grew up in Bonners Ferry, which is the closest town to the Canadian border, in the early 1950s and she claims quite a few of her classmates who got into trouble (meaning they got pregnant) would go to Spokane (which is no mean feat; its well over 100 miles and the roads were not good back then) for abortions. People from Idaho who have needed to end pregnancies have always gone to Spokane.
There are three places in Idaho where abortions are done
and for most of the state theyre out of reach. Find an Idaho map and look up Boise and Idaho Falls. There are three clinics in the whole state. Two are in the Boise area, the third in Idaho Falls. Its quicker and easier to get to Seattle from anywhere north of Moscow.
