I honestly don't think he expected Joe to take him up on the debate challenge. Joe is THE most politically experienced President we've ever had and Dump knows it. We've had Presidents who were in politics, military, or ambassadorships. Dump is the only one who has never served our Country - and it shows.
From what I understand there won't be an audience at the debates, maybe that's why Dump might eventually pull out (something he's not famous for 
)
In any case, may he rot in hell.
