In reply to the discussion: Is Dick Cheney being prosecuted by Holder as a "leaker" or a "whistle blower"? [View all]sabrina 1
(62,325 posts)23. I definitely think, since his 'leaks' were aimed at only one person with the intention of 'punishing
him, that treason would be the most appropriate charge in Cheney's case. But it will not happen, not in our lifetimes. History however often views these events with more clarity. His 'legacy' will be what it is, not what he would like it to be. His victims, in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan etc will have their say in the writing of his legacy.
See Pinochet! While the Brits and the US helped get him off the hook for his genocidal crimes, his legacy is being written by the victims. They are all human in the end and cannot control how they are remembered.

OP
It's no different in my eyes either. That is why Obama & Holder went after Cheney just as hard.

It's never too late to protect National Security from "leakers" like Cheney and Snowden.

Obama/Holder have the political courage to go after ALL leakers, Cheney is no exception.

We can't do that. Then we couldn't go after medical marijuana patients and Occupy protesters.

oh, okay. What a relief. I was really worried we would let the truly heinous criminals get away.
