(735 posts)Like you, I too am no longer angry about what the government is doing,both parties in my opinion are equally as guilty. I saw this coming for some time.
I am however angry at the apathy displayed by the populace at large, to the erosion of our rights.
I hate to play this card, but I will preface it with this. I think anyone who compares someone with Hitler, has already lost the argument.
Having said that, I don't think comparing a political establishment that slowly erodes our rights, to the Nazi party is the same thing.
Maybe I just have more insight given the things my grandmother would tell me about those times. Like how so many people thought Hitler and the Nazi
Party were a blessing for a country struggling with bad economic times, and how others like the ruling party at the time just didn't take him seriously.
The mistaken assumption that it couldn't possibly happen here makes me angry. I believe sincerely that most people will not realize until it's to late.
The average american is asleep in my opinion.
