(620 posts)53. Isn't that Section 4 of the *Voting* Rights Act that was struck down? There are several threads
currently on DU about the Voting Rights Act and SCOTUS, but nothing about the Civil Rights Act.
IIRC, and bearing in mind I do not have a Master's Degree in History, they are two separate, different pieces of legislation.

But, in your defense, maybe you were confused by the Voting Rights Act being one of the civil rights laws passed during that hectic period in our history.
