(15,536 posts)but even when it directly affects them and their loved ones they feel powerless to do anything about it. But there is strength in numbers and we are the majority.
I came of age in the 60's when we saw the power of numbers and the power of dissent, so why can't we see it now? Is there a "straw that breaks the camel's back" moment we need to live through before we'll stand up and fight for what's right once again? If we didn't in 2008 when we found out exactly how crooked bankers were and how they deliberately destroyed our economy (the closest thing to a depression most of us have lived through), then what will it take? Have people already forgotten the Enron scandal where people lost jobs and pensions?
By the way, I'm probably lame about this, but what does TPTB mean???
