(15,438 posts)But I'm not really surprised. Although President Obama has moved from left to center-left, it was a necessary move because that's where this country is - center-left.
Senator Warren is a fantastic Liberal, but she'll never win the presidency if she stays on the left of the political spectrum.
Sure, her seat in MA is hers for the losing, but the rest of the country is as wary of Liberals as it is of Rightwingers.
It's strange, though, that poll after poll shows that the country is pretty liberal when it comes to policies they'd like to see enacted, but at the same time, the American people are wary and distrustful of any meaningful change - even when it benefits them and theirs.
Don't ask me how to explain that disconnect because there's no plausible explanation for it, but based on how Americans tend to punish Democrats for any changes to improve their lives, the country, and our economy (the Omnibus Act of 1993, health care reform, the PPACA, etc.) and reward Republicans with more seats in Federal and State governments, it's becoming increasingly clear that the American electorate is suffering a severe case of political bi-polar disorder.
