will NOT help him to win the Republican primary - which is his first major hurdle. A hurdle I do not believe he will pass.

He's still weaseling around too - Republicans have been calling for "simplify the tax code" for years. All their proposals for simplification always involve - lower taxes for the rich. Trump also says he wants to cut taxes for "the middle class". Even when Democrats say that, their proposals always favor the rich. For a politician making $170,000 a year, "middle class" tends to mean, families making between $100,000 and $500,000 a year. Yep, 80th to 99th percentile is their idea of "middle".
