.......the residents in three out of the four condos in your building or segment, which is private property, don't object to the Merry Christmas door mat. You're in the minority. In addition, try to understand that it's only a door mat. Why is this even worth noticing, let alone making an issue over? Really. Why? Are you actively trying to find fault with everything in your life?
Sort of the same thing with the package. You do realize that if you (or your wife.......or both) hadn't make a stink about the stupid door mat chances are that no one would have written on the box, don't you? In the condo building where I live, if a package is left outside the security door, someone who lives here almost always picks it up and either sets it down just inside that door or even carries it to the recipient's door, so that it's not left in an unsecured area. Sounds as if one of your neighbors made that your package was inside where it would be safer. And then that person or one of he others wrote the greeting on the box. Childish? Well, yeah, I guess. Illegal.......are you kidding? And when you get down to it, whomever did it didn't write "Go To Hell" or "Eat Shit and Die" on it. They wrote "Merry Christmas" which, last I heard, hasn't been designated as hate speech. LET.......IT.......GO.
And here's a thought.......why not take some of the effort that you routinely expend in finding things to be upset/offended/outraged about and channel it into trying to get along with people and finding things to be happy about? It'll be good for your blood pressure and your general well being and you might find out that your neighbors are actually nice people. It would make everyone's life more peaceful, most of all yours.
