(787 posts)I did not know your race or gender and frankly still do not. I did read your article that you posted to prove your point that Gabby Douglas was harassed. Since you posted an AP story, I assume you were saying the harassment was universal and widespread by the media and much of American society. I read your article because it was not an internet post but an AP article so would seem germain to the thread. However, it said the opposite of what you were alleging. It only said that a "SMALL BUT VOCAL" number of twitter people criticized her.
I was in the mountains when both events occurred. However, currently, all I see is one story in the news and discussion. It is all about him and will be in the future. I currently see nothing criticizing her although I believe everyone on this thread that a "SMALL BUT VOCAL" twitter posters went after her for stupid stuff the first day. Since I was not connected, I have no idea how harassed she was. However, I did read your article saying it was a 'SMALL BUT VOCAL" number of twitter users. I am sure some idiots on right wing radio too. However, that was not your point or the reason you posted your article and is the problem with this thread. You posted this articl to try to proved that American Society used her race against her. The AP article said no such thing. It said a 'SMALL BUT VOCAL" number of twitter users. In the US a small but vocal number of people post all manner of stupid stuff on every subject imaginable especially about celebrities.
The problem with this thread is the assumption that all stupid stuff is about race, kind of like you thinking my post about your article related to some magical knowledge I have about your race or gender rather than reading an article that proves the opposite of your general argument.
