In reply to the discussion: I have never felt so alone in all my life. [View all]MontanaMama
(23,317 posts)85. My 19 year old niece from Missouri called me in tears last night.
During the conversation she confided in me that she is gay and her parents (Trumpsters) rejected her when she revealed it to them. She knew we were rabid Hillary supporters and felt safe in telling us. She feels hopeless because of the rejection of her family and also unsafe in her country having newly come out. It took a long time to calm her down.
I am afraid for those in our nation who feel shattered and cannot reach out.
We need to continue to band together and take care of each other. I am grateful to have found DU.
