and that there's no water. The rivers are more like creeks and the only water you can boat on is the Elephant Butte Reservoir and it's been getting lower every year, so soon it will be paddle boards or rowboats. The wisecrack about the Rio Grande is that it's too thick to sail, too thin to plow.

The air is extremely dry and you'll have nosebleeds until you get used to it.
