8. Three things are driving the narrative, I think

You are probably mostly correct, Botany, that there is quite a bit of dog-wagging regarding North Korea. But there are two other elements to consider.

First, nuclear technology doesn't spring fully formed from the laboratory. It is constantly developing. Even with our own advanced technology, scientists and engineers are striving for new advances. I'm certain that North Korea's team has advanced their technology in the past decade.

Second and more ominous, the North Korean missile technology has advanced. Although they might not yet be able to deliver a payload to the North American continent, they could lob a nuclear missile into South Korea or Japan. Frankly, their missiles are concerning because that technology keeps improving.

We fear terrorist groups getting ahold of an atomic bomb then delivering it in a car or in a shipping container or the like. ISIS is never going to have an ICBM. North Korea could have that rocket very soon.
