(9,535 posts)86. Pacalo, you did the right thing to end Gizmo's suffering.
Getting a new pet will truly help. I've lost several cats through the years, and with one of them we got a replacement right away, just days later, rather by accident. Turned out to be a wise decision - having that bundle of kitten joy brought laughs and smiles, and helped put the loss in perspective - one life ends, another begins - and the cycle goes on.
I do want to get another dog soon, but have to pay off the vet bills first....amazing how expensive it is for the end of life care.

Thank you. We let them go together, she was blind, deaf, and 16 years old, then last Nov.
