(37,648 posts)There are TWO public accusations: One by the altrightwingnut, who had allegations that he disagreed with and which the photo did not support. He admitted to conducting a practice session with her of a comedy sketch where they had to kiss. Come on, now. That's a stretch.
The second was someone who says in 2006 he tried to kiss her, when he was a DJ on some show..saying that "it was his right as an entertainer" to kiss her. She was able to avoid the kiss & left. HE HAS STRONGLY DENIED THIS HAPPENED, and said that her saying he said that about it being his right is preposterous.
Not really in the same league of what we normally see in public accusers of sexual harassment or molestation or abuse of power. These were two specious things.
I'm inclined to believe all women who PUBLICLY claim molestation. These two incidents are hard to believe. They sound contrived.
Is that all that is required? An allegation of "he tried to kiss me once," and we demand he resign from the Senate? Is that all that is required? There was no abuse of power...he wasn't in a power position. He denies both instances of what they claim. He has NO history of this. An entire group of women he worked with for years have signed a letter verifying his respectful treatment of them.
So...is this all that's required? We don't even wait to catch a breath? No investigation?
This is like a shark frenzy. An overreaction to any claim by anyone, even anonymously. But only on the Democratic Party side. There are no calls for Trump to resign, despite public accusations of I think almost 20 women. Sen. Schumer has called for Franken to resign, but has never called for Trump to resign. Odd, don't you think? Why is that?
