But for those of you who think that this is a clear case of assault, that really isn't the case here, there was a lot of investigation into the victim's story there was a hearing on campus, many of the statements claimed by the victim were proven to be untrue, and as an alumnus of FSU and a person who lived in Tallahassee for over fourteen years, who still has many contacts there, the reality is that there was a lot of room to doubt her account as being an honest one. I think that it's is unlikely based on all the reading I have done on this case and it was covered in the media for more than a year in a half, culminating in the campus hearing which didn't find enough evidence that her accusations were the truth. I know that people are tried and convicted in the media all the time these days and that with all of the stories that we see about athlete's and their troubles with relationships, violence etc... that it's easy to believe that every story is true but in this case, which I followed very closely, because of my ties to the school I think that Winston, was smeared, and I realize that my opinion may not be popular here, but investigate the stories and what all parties involved have said on the record about the incident and see if you still believe that this was an assault.

And there is still a civil suit pending on this case by the way, so the victim has another chance to tell her story to a court and so does the defendant
