In reply to the discussion: Samantha Bee apologizes for vulgar remark about Ivanka Trump: 'I crossed a line' [View all]RobinA

and the Roseanne episode is that comedians start getting the idea that they are too cool for school and start thinking it is OK for them to talk this way. I think both women have to know that what they said is not generally accepted as appropriate public talk. Likening someone to an ape? Calling someone, anyone, a c--- in public? Not generally accepted. But they thought they had a pass because they generally get away with potty-mouth-in-public and lost sight of the fact that even they have a line.
Samantha Bee, whom I think is sometimes hilariously funny, does say some things that I consider over the top, inappropriate, and very unfunny. And frankly unnecessary to her comedy.

OP
Directing the "C-word" on television towards any woman is inexcusable. She should be fired.

I agree. The c word for women is the equivalent of the N word for Af Americans....

Thanks for that! I agree that Sam B isn't even close to what Roseanne said.

It doesn't have to be "equivalent"; it has to be "inappropriate" in its own right...

As a woman she obviously owns that word. I'm stunned she used it, but then again, as a woman...

How smart is she really if she makes such a blatant obvious mistake as she did?

Somebody tallied MSM coverage: 30 minutes death toll vs 600 minutes the c-word.
