2. And next year they'll get the chance - assuming Bolsonaro respects the results

As you may know, Brazil's courts have just vacated the corruption rulings against former President Lula da Silva - who was convicted in the last election year on mere hearsay (from a "witness" kept in a rat-infested dungeon until he fingered him) and with fabricated evidence (a beachfront apartment which actually belonged to someone else).

This allows the very popular, center-left da Silva to run again in '22 - and polls show Bolso (still popular only among the white middle class) has no chance against him at all.

From the above headline though - and everything else we've seen from the "Tropical Trump" - there's good reason to believe he'll attempt a "self-coup" after losing the '22 elections.

Much like his orange friend did - except that in Brazil, it might just work.
