The police should have a better way of handling the situation than pepper spraying her in the face. She was probably in shock after a concussion and should have been handled gently. I don't blame an African American teen for not trusting the cops. At the very least they could have followed her as she rode away on her bike to make sure she didn't have another accident, and to find out who she was. Patience and tact are not the strong suit of the American police force.
