Our baby girl is incredibly affectionate and loves to be petted and give kisses, but for the first few months was VERY skittish about being held. I suspect she may have been restrained or caged a lot as a puppy before we got her (she was 16 months old when we adopted her). Possibly kept in a small crate even as she grew?
Anyway, just in the last few weeks she's come around big time. She cuddled on my lap for two hours as we watched a movie and now loves to be curled at my side while I watch TV or sleep. What a breakthrough!
I'm so glad for you the Bennie is teaching the little one to be a cuddle bug!
