Showing Original Post only (View all)Name a television show that "won you over." [View all]
In that you began watching it with a certain degree of skepticism but after a while you stop and think to yourself, "No, this is actually pretty good."
For me, it was Ted Lasso. When it started, I thought it was just going to lazily retread the plot to Major League, and overly rely on a lot of tired "Ugly American in Europe" tropes and clichés.
But soon I realized, no, it actually took its own original course, and the characters--especially the title character--were some of the most likeable and dimensional characters I've seen on TV in a long time. (Of course, that's the thing about the Ted Lasso character itself--people are always underestimating him and writing him off.)

In Schitt's Creek, the main characters definitely change for the better as the show progresses. nt

Liked the first three years of Office, hated friends, just don't get Schitt's Creek.

I figured it was about punks in England. Loved it after I watched it once about in season three.

Hill Street Blues. I wouldn't watch it for a time. I thought it was a soap opera. It was. I loved it.

Orphan Black. I watched the first episode and did not like the characters and some plot aspects.
